Fort Campbell is excited to offer our newest addition to Fort Campbell AFTB!

Teen AFTB Program Purpose

The purpose of the Teen AFTB Program is to offer courses derived from the current AFTB Levels 1-3 curriculum.  The long-term goal of this program is to develop peers as future trainers.

Ft. Campbell comprises of very active deployable units.  It is the only on post High School to offer Teen AFTB.  Although AFTB is designed specifically for the new spouse, teens have the same challenges that our new spouses have – “how do we fit in?”; “how do we adapt to this lifestyle?” and; “what can I do to help my fellow teens?”.

The goal of Teen AFTB is to help teens transition in to the Army life with more understanding than they did when they were younger and to assist other teens with the challenges they face as children of Soldiers.  It is also the goal of the program to develop Teen Leaders within our community.

Teen AFTB Program Criteria

Participation is for any teen ages 15-17 attending Ft. Campbell High School as well as the area local schools in Clarskville/Montgomery County. All of these school districts have children whose parents are serving in the military attending their respective Middle School or High School.  Teen Trainers must be between 15-17 years of age upon completion of Instructor Training.  Parental consent is required to attend.

Curricula Description, Content and Schedule

Teen AFTB is divided into three modules: Personal Development, Team Development and Leadership.  All courses offered are taken from the already existing AFTB Levels 1-3 curricula but delivered with our teen audience in mind.  The proposed courses are:

  • Expectations/Impact of the Mission
  • Acronyms and Terms

  • Basic Problem Solving
  • Personal Time Management
  • Stress Management
