What's Happening at CYS

Super Saturdays with CYS

Need a break moms and dads? Child and Youth Services offers respite childcare two Saturdays each month. The next Super Saturday is October 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., so come join us for arts & crafts, organized fitness activities, computer fun, games and more! A snack and lunch will be provided. All parents who have an MWR Spouse Discount Card are eligible for this service, and children must be registered with CYS. If your child is already enrolled please make your reservations by calling Taylor Youth Center at (270) 798-3643 for children in kindergarten through the fifth grade or by calling the Child Development Center for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old at (270) 439-7996. If your child is not registered, you can do so through CYS Central Registration at 5668 Wickham Ave. Call them at (270) 798-0674 if you have any questions concerning registration. The next Super Saturdays are quickly approaching, so call now for reservations!

NOTE To use Respite Care free of charge, spouses must present an MWR Spouse Discount Card.  To pick up your MWR Discount Card, please take deployment orders and your ID card to In/Out Processing, 798-7535.

CYS Programs

Outreach Services
The Outreach Services section of CYS offers assistance to patrons in locating childcare for their specific needs. Registration and placement of children in all CYS programs is done at the central enrollment registry office. Outreach Services (0S) Administration Office: (270) 956-1722.

Family Child Care (FCC)
The Family childcare program is designed to meet the needs of parents who prefer childcare in a home environment. Each home is inspected and monitored regularly by CYS personnel for safety, sanitation, and fire prevention. Fees are reasonable and locations are convenient. Benefits include developmental activities and balanced meals, as well as benefits for those who become home care providers. Training includes program management and operation, first aid and CPR use of professional resource library, and liability insurance coverage. Providers' credentials are transferable to other military installations. The FCC program also offers extended home care on weeknights and weekends.

School Age Services
Offers comprehensive School Age Services (SAS) programs to include before and after school care, and summer day camps. These programs are designed for working parents who need to provide structural care and supervision during work hours. All SAS programs provide developmental opportunities for each participant by offering activities to stimulate the intellectual, physical, and psychological growth of children.

Middle School/Teen Programs - "Eagles Club"
Youth and teens are entitled to participate in Middle School and Teen programs offered daily. Open recreation options are free and some special events with nominal fees are offered monthly.

Teen Club 24/7
Teens enjoy a separate facility that has been designed for teens by teens. Primarily the elected officers and project committees operate the facility. Adult supervision, role modeling and mentoring are key to the success of the teen club.

We provide a wide range of recreational and developmental activities for youth, grades K-12. Eligible youth are family members of active duty, retired military, and civilian employees at Fort Campbell. Some special instructional activities are available to four and five year olds. Summer Instructional Clinics are also available for children ages 4-18 years of age.

Sports and Fitness programs Include fall and spring soccer, flag and tackle football, baseball and softball, basketball, and cheerleading. Training for adult volunteers is ongoing throughout the year for all sports offered. Each coach is certified through the National Alliance for Youth Sports.
