In early 2010, Barkley donated items to a Battered Women’s Shelter.  These items included: paper products, personal hygiene products, stuffed animals, canned foods, socks, t-shirts, tube socks puppets, and a coloring book that was designed by Barkley SAS.  While the children were doing this community project, we emphasized the six pillars of character: Citizenship, Caring, Fairness, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, and Respect.  The children enjoyed collecting items for this project and helping their community. Barkley will also be collecting paper goods to be donated to the Fisher House here on Fort Campbell.  This community project will run from March 1st through March 31st. 

On April 9th 2010, the SAS children put on a Fashion Show for their parents. Many of the children at each site made clothes and designed their own clothes from existing pieces creating a one of a kind statement.  After the Fashion show, the children and parents partook in many different activities such as: BBQ, Basketball, Dance Dance Revolution, Wii, and more.
