Parent Rules & Responsibilities

1. Parents must ensure their child has a current physical on file with Child & Youth Services by the first practice. Child may not participate in practices or games without a current physical.

2. Please be respectful of volunteer coaches’ and their time by being punctual for start and end of practice.

3. Please make sure child has appropriate attire for sports activity including tennis shoes.

4. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to game time for proper warm-up and to ensure games begin and end on time.

5. Please provide your child with a closable/capped water container for practice and games.

6. Please verify correct contact information on coach’s roster.

7. Any concerns and/or questions should be directed to Youth Sports & Fitness staff.  Please allow for a timely response.

8. Individual requests for practice time and day must be submitted during sport registration period. No requests will be considered after registration is closed. These forms are available at all registration sites.  Click here to view form.

9. Children not participating in an organized Youth Sports & Fitness activity must be supervised by parents at all times.  Children should not be left unattended.

10. Pets and/or animals are not permitted at any Youth Sports & Fitness game, practice or activity.

11. Tobacco products of any kind to include cigarettes, dip, chewing tobacco are prohibited at all Youth Sports & Fitness games, practices and activities.

12. Practice is allowed only at your designated location and time with Youth Sports & Fitness staff supervision.

13. The parent is responsible for providing a role model for youth that exemplifies good sportsmanship, positive reinforcement and encouragement for child at all Youth Sports & Fitness participants.

Cancellation/Inclement Weather Policy

*In the event of a practice or game cancellation due to inclement weather coaches will be contacted by Youth Sports staff. It is the coaches’ responsibility to contact each participant on his/her team. 
*All make-up games will be played during designated times at the end of season.
*Coaches will be informed of time and day of make-up games.
* Parents may reserve the right to refrain from taking their child to a game and/or practice if they feel the weather is too bad. In this instance parents should contact their child’s coach to let them know.
* In the event post is closed due to weather there will be no practice or games.

Other Information

Equipment
*Parents must furnish their child’s own personal equipment, such as shoes, socks, shorts, mouthpieces, gloves, etc.  The sports department will furnish team equipment.
*The equipment issued will be recorded on a hand receipt. All equipment on the hand receipt must be returned to Youth Sports & Fitness department in satisfactory condition within 2 weeks of completion of season for return of hand receipt.

 Picture Information
*Your coach is responsible for contacting and coordinating team/individual pictures.

Trophy Information
*Your child will receive a trophy at the end of the season. Please verify correct spelling of child’s name on coach’s roster to ensure your child’s name is correct on his/her trophy.

Special Needs
*Please inform your child’s coach of any special needs your child might have.
*It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure your child has the appropriate medications including inhaler, epi-pen, insulin, glucose, etc. at each practice and game. If medications are not on-site child may not participate in practice and/or game.
* If your child has a food allergy it is the parent’ s responsibility to inform the coach and team Mom and  to inspect and approve any food and/or drink item prior to consumption by the child.  You may need to provide an alternate food and/or drink item for your child depending on the severity of allergy.

Even if you never played or coached before we want you! Our children need volunteer coaches to help them play the games, learn skills and have fun. You do not even have to be a parent, just someone who wants to be a part of a team that help children explore the world of sports.
