Our Facility
The building boasts a large reception area filled with informational
brochures about the Fort Campbell community as well as our local supporting
communities. The reception area is furnished with a comfortable inviting
waiting area and a flat screen television. A receptionist is
available to educate the visitors on the resources available in the center,
and during major deployments the receptionist also fields the Family Resource
toll free line 1.866.252.9319.
The highlight of the center is the Dining Room. The elegant wall sized fireplace and its comfortable arrangement of sofas and chairs is perfect for informal "get togethers". The room is able to accommodate a Family-style potluck dinner with seating for 30 from furnishings graciously donated by Ms. Jackie Langford of Riner Furniture. The Dining room also hosts a coffee station sponsored by the VFW. Adjacent to the Dining room is a kitchen fully equipped with essential kitchen conveniences and plenty of work space to prepare and serve your meal.
A small conference room is located in the west wing of the building and
is set up to accommodate a classroom style meeting, equipped
with a flat screen television.
Rounding out the west wing of the center is the onsite Short Term Alternative
Child Care (STACC) Room. The child care room is available for use
in conjunction with the rest of the center. Reservations for this service
(room and staff) are independent of the reservation system for the center.
The three main classrooms are the hub of activity at the FRC and are able to seat 150 people with independent access to each room and complete with audio-visual systems. These rooms can be combined into one large ballroom capable of seating 450 people with auditorium style seating, perfect for large functions.
The center also houses three Video Telephone Conference (VTC) rooms located
in the far northwest corner of the facility. The facility manager coordinates
the utilization of the VTC rooms.
The FRC Resource Room serves as a hub for the Family Readiness Groups’ and volunteers. The Resource Room
is equipped with three computers, one printer, and one copier for the Army community to
stay connected to the “web” world. Directly
across from the Resource Room is the FRG Mailbox Room. Each FRG leader
has an assigned distribution mailbox to facilitate an efficient exchange
of information between the FRGs and the Division’s supporting agencies.
The east hallway houses several Army Community Service
family program offices. These programs assist the Soldiers and Family
members in their quest to build a better and stronger Army community.
ACS Programs in the FRC
Many have heard the saying that behind every Soldier is a strong Family. Military Families are called upon time and time again to protect their home and loved ones while their Soldier is away protecting our freedom. Is there a training to teach them how to survive Military life?
Army Family Team Building, commonly refered to as (AFTB) was designed to equip Military Families with the knowledge and tools to survive while simultaneously gaining skills to develop into our future Military community leaders.
Each level of AFTB guides Families and Soldiers through various aspect of the Army. Level 1 is a two day class featuring the basic skills ans knowledge needed to live the Military life. Level 2 classes allow the participant to grow into a community leader and learn valuable information about themselves. Level 3 classes are designed to inspire and mentor others into leadership positions. Family members, FRG leaders, fiancés, local community leadership and Soldiers themselves have all attended AFTB classes to gain valuable knowledge and give back to their community.
The best part of AFTB is that it is a volunteer led organization. Instructors are peers who truly understand the student's situation and can provide real life examples of how to cope. AFTB helps others help themselves by giving them tools to succeed.
The AFTB office is located in Room 102 ans can be reached at 270.798.4800.
The Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) office offers the Army community the
opportunity to examine quality of life issues at an annual conference. The
program office (Room 103) continually solicits issues throughout the year
from the Active Duty Component, Reserve Component, National Guard, Retirees,
Civilian Employees and family members of these groups. Individuals from these
groups are recruited to serve as delegates during the conference. The
delegates discuss the submitted issues and determine which issues are most
important to brief to the Installation Commander. The Installation
Commander appoints a Steering Committee to ensure the conference issues are
addressed and resolved at the local level. Issues that are outside
of the Installation scope are forwarded to the Installation’s Major
Unit Command for consideration at their annual conference. For more
information about this program visit the Web site at http://www.campbell.army.mil/afap, or call 270.798.2063.
The
Mobilization/Deployment Office, located in Room 108 is in charge of the overall training of Family
Readiness Groups for units assigned or attached to Fort Campbell , KY. This
office provides extensive training for Family Readiness Group leaders, Point
of Contacts, Treasurers, and newsletter editors. This
office also assists FRG leaders with the necessary paperwork for fundraising
activities and compiles resources and helpful
information that directly affects the success of FRGs across the Installation.
The Mob/Dep Office encourages interested individuals to stop
by the office for more information.
The Mobilization/Deployment Office is the principal source of resources and services for Soldiers, Commander/Rear Detachment Commanders, Family Members and Family Readiness Groups. We will assist units and installation personnel with deployment and reintegration briefings and offer a variety of training programs for Family Members to include but not limited to following: Operation READY classes for FRG Leaders, Points Of Contact, Treasurers, Newsletter Editors, Rear Detachment Commanders, and Commanders & First Sergeant Courses. point of contact for volunteerism on the Installation. The AVCC can assist
you in learning about volunteer opportunities on the Installation and in
the surrounding civilian communities. The AVCC recruits and interviews
potential volunteers for placement in positions throughout the Installation. This
office provides training to the various Installation agencies and assists
the agency volunteer managers in developing job descriptions. The AVCC

issues. The AVCC provides monthly Installation recognition and an annual
Installation-wide recognition ceremony. For information about volunteer
opportunities, please call the AVCC office.
